Raw Vegan Pizza with Basil Pesto Sauce

It has certainly been a minute since I’ve enjoyed some really good vegan pizza… and to top it off these are 100% raw vegan pizza too! I impressed myself. But for real who doesn’t crave pizza like, most of the time?

I actually brought these pizza’s to a raw vegan potluck I attended this past weekend, and it was gone in 2 minutes. Everyone LOVED it. I have to admit, they were freakin’ delicious! And that basil pesto sauce! Yes, just yes.

Aside from these pizzas being delicious, they’re also low fat… right?! How did I do it? Usually raw vegan pizza requires lots of nuts, seeds, and all the fatty stuff that we’re trying to avoid in 2018 right? Resolutions are important!

Okay I know you want the recipe so let’s goooo! 😀

 

Raw Vegan Pizza with Basil Pesto Sauce

Total Time 18 hours 15 minutes
Servings 4 servings

Ingredients

For the Crust

  • 2 cups shredded carrot
  • 1 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1 tbsp flax meal
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 medium white onion, diced
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder

For the Basil Pesto

  • 1 small handful of basil
  • 1/2 avocado
  • Spalsh of water
  • Pinch of garlic powder
  • Juice of 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a food processor or blender. (If you use a blender you will need a splash of water to help it move)

  2. Place all mixture onto a dehydrator sheet lined with parchment paper and shape into any type of pizza crust you want, I just used a generic circle.

  3. Place in the dehydrator for 18 hours on 115F

  4. 2 hours before the crust is done, slice desired toppings and place onto a separate dehydrator sheet and dehydrate for a couple hours allowing them to become more squishy.

  5. Once crust & toppings are done, place all pesto sauce ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.

  6. Add sauce and toppings to the pizza and serve immediately. ENJOY!
